• GRADUATION Saturday June 9, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.

     

    1. Graduation Ceremony – in-person, with a live broadcast, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. at the FHS Stadium. Link to broadcast: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/freedom-high-school-oakley-ca.
    2. Tickets — Each graduate will receive seven (7) guest tickets!  Seniors must complete the Senior Clearance form and sign for their tickets during finals week.
    3. Class Speaker — A staff committee selects a graduating senior to be the graduation speaker. Auditions will be on May 21st. The speaker will be announced at the end of the week after the auditions. Speech should be no longer than two (2) minutes. Class speaker tryout information
    4. Graduation Day Pictures — Campus Candids will take pictures of each graduate as he/she receives their diploma. You will be able to purchase these photographs.     1. Diplomas — Graduates will receive their diploma case as you cross the stage.  The official Diploma will be given out after the ceremony when you return to the Gym.
    2. Early Graduates and Non-Attending Graduates — will be able to pick up their diploma beginning Monday, June 10 in the A Office.
    3. Borrowed Cap, Gown, & Tassel — you must return the cap & gown before receiving your diploma after the ceremony.

     

    STUDENT BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:

     

    Inappropriate student behavior in the days before or during the ceremony may jeopardize your participation in graduation.  All school rules must be followed.  Students that participate in “Senior Pranks” that are harmful or destructive are liable for damages and will not participate in commencement exercises.  It’s a privilege, not a right, to participate in Graduation!

     

    1. Graduation is a formal and dignified ceremony and students are expected to behave appropriately.
    2. No personal items may be carried by students.
    3. Students must remain in their seats during the ceremony until the appropriate time for them to cross the stage and upon completion of the Recessional.
    4. A staff member will be seated in each row to assist monitoring.  Disruptive students may be escorted from the ceremony.
    5. Dress Code – proper dress is as follows: boys—dress shirt, dress slacks, socks and shoes; girls—dress shoes (no heels), dress, or skirt/slacks & blouse (no flowers pinned on gown).  It is not necessary to wear a coat under the gown.  Cap and gown are required to participate in the graduation exercise.
    6. Gown – no decoration or alteration of any kind is allowed.
    7. Cap – Students may decorate their cap (not 3D, must be flat).
    8. Any graduate found under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance will be removed from the ceremony.

     

    SENIOR CLEARANCE:

     

    1. Clearance Forms -- Clearance forms will be distributed the week of May 28th in your GOV'T/ECON class. You may ONLY get clearance forms signed during NON-CLASS time (unscheduled, before/after school, lunch) NOT DURING CLASS TIMES (INCLUDING TA PERIODS). On June 6th, counselors will be at tables in front of your buildings and will leave at 3 p.m. You will NOT get tickets if you do not submit a form.
    2. Library Books — All seniors must be clear with the Library. If you have questions regarding your status, please check with the Librarian (925) 625-5900 x3016.
    3. Textbooks — All seniors must return all textbooks and pay textbook bills before they can receive a diploma.
    4. Student Store — All seniors must be clear of any outstanding bills before they can receive their diploma.

     

    TRANSCRIPTS/REPORT CARDS:

     

    All transcript requests are processed through www.parchment.com online.  July 31, 2024, will be the last day to receive free unlimited number of digital/electronic requests.  There is a fee for US Postal or FedEx Overnight delivery.  Report cards will be mailed on or around TBD.
