• ¡Hola muchachos! I hope you are all doing well.  On Monday, April 6th, we will be starting the Distance Learning Plan. I will be providing you with remote learning assignments weekly in order to maintain and practice your skills in Spanish. You will find the assignments on my school webpage: https://ca01001129.schoolwires.net/Domain/220 Once there, you will see your level on the right hand side. Click on the “+” sign and then on “assignments”. You will see the weekly assignments posted.

    Here's what Distance Learning will look like for my Spanish classes:

    Each Monday morning, you will log into my teacher website and access the assignments to complete for the week (IEP/504- check in with me about any needed modifications on these assignments). You will email these assignments to me at the end of the week at gonzalea@luhsd.net (I'm considering some other options like Turnitin, but for now we will stick with emails).  Please make sure that each week, you submit to me ALL YOUR ASSIGNMENTS IN ONE EMAIL, and title the email as "Last Name, First name, Period and week of April 6th-April 10th" (for the first week back). For example, if I were submitting as assignments, the subject line of my email would be titled “GonzalezOrtega, Anna P.4 April 6-10th”.”

    No computer…NO WORRIES!

    If you don't have a computer, NO WORRIES!  Simply contact the school, let them know and they will check out a computer for you or arrange a way for you to get the assignments. Just so you know, the school also has access to the assignments and can print them out for you.  From there, you can send it back to the school when you are done, and they will get the work to me! 

    Class Sessions/Office Hours:

    I know that some of you may be experiencing a very difficult time with COVID-19. Some of your parents may have been laid off, you or someone you love may be sick or other unforeseen issues.  Social distancing prevents us from meeting in person.  Therefore, Office Hours will be conducted via Zoom and I will send out the code via email.  If you have a phone or computer, I recommend you download the app. I will have office hours for each individual level. During that time I will go over the weekly assignment and answer any questions you may have or simply say “Hola”.  If you are not able to join at the schedule zoom time, you can email or sent questions via Remind or I can work with you individually and set up a time when we can Zoom.  I will be flexible and ask that you be flexible as well.  Distant learning is new for everyone!

    My office hours are (Remember, you are welcome to attend either or both):

    Spanish Speakers I: Tuesday from 10:00 AM-11 AM & Wednesday from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

    Spanish Speakers II: Tuesday from 11:30 AM-12:30 AM & Thursday from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM

    Spanish 4: Monday 10:45 AM-11:45 AM & Wednesday 2:15 PM -3:15 PM


    It is not mandatory to attend the office hours, but I hope they will be helpful.  Zoom is basically a new age Skype for bigger audiences and is very easy to use.  I’m here for you guys for whatever you may need.  If you need to talk, vent or tell me how your day is going: whatever will make your day a little brighter!
