How To Find Books

1. Click on the Login link in the upper right corner of the page. Use this to see checkouts, check due dates, renew books, etc.
- Username: StudentID#
- Password: Birthdate (YYYYMMDD)
2. To search for a book, use the search box in the upper right corner. You can search by title, author or topic.
3. To search by Lexile, type in your lexile level like this: lexile 800
- Be sure to try different lexiles close to yours. If yours is 800, try 750,775, 825
4. When you find a book that interests you, click on the cover. Read the summary. Use the red or gree box on the book cover to see if the book is in or checked out.
5. If you decide you want to check out the book, write down the title, author & call number so you can find the book on the shelves. Use the signs on the book cases to help. If you need more help, as a library staff member.
Finding a Book's Lexile Level
If you have a certain book you want to read, you can usually find its lexile level.
1. If you are logged into the online catalog, you can look up the title of the book.
- Type the title into the search box in the upper right corner.
- When your results appear, click on the book cover.
- When the pop out box appears, click on "More Details."
- Look in the section of the page that says "Book Details." If it's not there, you can Google it insead (see below).
2. If the catalog doesn't work, you can usually Google the lexile level.
- Go to Google, and type in "lexile level + the book title.
- Example: lexile level the hate u give
- If it doesn't pop up right at the top, look at the descriptions of the first few entries & see if they give the lexile level.
