A.A. Skyline College

Kevin Brannan

Coach Brannan has been the head varsity baseball coach at Heritage for the past decade, taking over the program in 2010 after three years at the frosh level for the Patriots.  His coaching career now extends greater than 30 years, and he has been active as a coach in the Brentwood area since 1994.  His time with the Patriots has seen the program capture seven Bay Valley Athletic League titles and reach the North Coast Section playoffs on 10 different occasions, advancing to the section semifinals on five different trips and reaching the 2019 NCS Division I title game.

His roots come from the South Bay, where he was a standout at El Camino High in South San Francisco, a place where he gained his love for the sport.  His playing ability then took him first to Skyline College before he finished his collegiate playing career at Sacramento State, following that up with a stint in the San Francisco Giants' organization.

He coaches today because of a few great coaches who gave him their time and demonstrated their own love for the calling of being a coach.  His high school coach, Lou Zuardo, remains a role model for him, someone who formed Brannan's approach of making sure that his athletes know he is in their corner.  He knows that his team was successful if, regardless of talent level, they are a better team at the end of the season than at the beginning.  An athlete entering the Heritage program under Coach Brannan will witness his compassion and patience with others, yet also find themselves in a program which values and requires the core values of competitiveness and commitment from its athletes and coaches.

"I coach hopefully to have a positive influence on lives, help kids learn basic fundamentals, to be part of a family, and to be a positive role model during an important time of their lives." - Coach Brannan
