Intermediate and Advanced Art
Intermediate Art will focus on the continuation of drawing and painting development during the first semester and the development of an art portfolio during the second semester. The course will entail artistic perception of real works to create their own works of art using a variety of art mediums; will use creative expression in abstract techniques to create original works of art; will define and show relationships of art techniques and styles through art history and cultural context. The class will train students in aesthetic valuing through class critiques, written analysis of their work and others in the class. This class will require a sketchbook to be worked on outside of class and will be used as an analytical tool for the purpose of researching ideas for students’ own artwork.
