In Chapter 2 the authors focus on the forces that affect school improvement efforts?  What are some of the ways we focus on school improvement and what are some of the obstacles we face?  How do we communicate our efforts with staff, students, and community?  What are some ways we monitor our progress and are their other ways that we can be more effective in monitoring such progress?

There is also discussion in the chapter about teacher-centered and learner-centered systems.  Are we a teacher-centered or learner-centered system or something else entirely?  How do we become a more learner-centered system?
