    Freshman:

     

    Introduction to Broadcasting and Media

    This is an entry-level course covering all aspects of the broadcast and mass media industries. Course includes history of broadcasting and television, cable television, radio, sports and movies as an important form of communication. The study of vocabulary, safety and basic hands-on production skills will be developed and implemented.

     

    Sophomore:

     

    Sports Broadcasting

    This course is a second-year course for students who have taken Introduction to Broadcasting and is a chance to focus on sports related content. Students will be responsible for the content, operations, and management of the student-run sports show in a multi-camera television studio and control room. Additionally, students will produce a variety of live sports content used to promote programs within the school. Students will continue learning about signal flow, audio and video equipment, lighting, and the various positions within the studio. This is a project driven course where students will learn the responsibilities needed to run a sports broadcast including producing, directing, play-by-play and color analysis, sideline reporting, and various technical positions. Students will produce a weekly live sports show as well as producing live content for school sporting events.

     

    Junior:

     

    TV/Video Productions

    ROP Video Production provides students the opportunity to develop basic video production techniques. Students will design, shoot, edit, and write and produce video projects.

     

    Multimedia

    Students will learn skills for combining text, VR, video, graphics and sound to create multimedia presentations that can be used in business, publishing, advertising, marketing, teaching, or informational services. The course uses hands-on training to prepare for employment by creating a digital resume and beginning an electronic portfolio.

     

     

    Senior:

     

    Art of Video Production


    This course uses computers and video equipment to plan, shoot, and edit high-quality documentary, educational, and dramatic videos, with emphasis on long-term productions.
