• Per guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS), any student exhibiting 1 or more symptoms of COVID-19 is not allowed to return to campus for in-person instruction, activities, or athletics until they have met state and county criteria to discontinue home isolation for those with symptoms.

To promote the safety of our students and employees and to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19, you will need to:

    1. Isolate your child at home for 10 days. Your child may return to school after:
      • At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, AND
      • 24 hours have passed with no fever (without use of fever-reducing medications).
    2. If your child tested positive for COVID-19, we will notify the District Nurse for contact tracing purposes and she will be in contact with you soon.
Your child may return to school sooner IF you are able to provide the school with one of the following:

    • A negative COVID-19 test result from an authorized testing facilityIf your child tests negative for COVID-19 AND has not had close contact to someone with COVID-19, they may return to school with a paper copy of the proof of a negative test given to attendance in A3 before going to class. The student’s name and test date need to be on the test results.
If you email the results, please wait for a response from lhsattendance@luhsd.net before returning your child to school.
    • A doctor’s note that states COVID-19 has been ruled out and the symptoms are typical of an underlying chronic condition (e.g., allergies or asthma) OR confirmed alternative diagnosis with the return to school date included.
