• “Coach, what do I need to work on?” is a common question I get asked by players. Ultimately, what they want to know is “how do I get more playing time?” Here are 5 things to work on before tryouts (Nov 4) to help answer these questions.

    1. Being able to handle the basketball and finish at the rim both right and left handed

    2. 3-point shots (500+ daily)

    3. Sprinting baseline to baseline (84 feet) in under 7 sec consistently and continually (84 feet = 28 yards)

    • 1 trip = 7 sec
    • 2 trips = 14 sec
    • 3 trips = 21 sec
    • 4 trips…..

    4. Understanding the triangle offense from all positions and being able to execute the various sets within the offense. https://thehoopsgeek.com/playcreator/viewer?code=yqGSKtKk3K

    • Knowing player actions relative to ball movement
    •  Knowing the pressure release options

    5. Being a lock down on ball defender https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XElFSy_sxg
