Applications for CSU schools opens on October 1st, 2021 and must be submitted no later than November 30th, 2021. Don't leave it for the last minute!
Let's break down your CSU Application! This will give you more insight on what to expect when you begin your application!
When you begin your CSU application this is what you'll see! You'll begin with your Extended Profile, as a freshman you'll select First Bachelor's Degree. Then, select Graduating High School Senior or equivalent for your educational status. Specify if you have taken and earned any college credits through a community college or university (e.g. through "dual enrollment").
After the Extended Profile, you will be taken to the Add Program page. When finding a program tou can begin by typing in a campus name or program (major) in the search box. You can also use the filters to narrow down your search quickly.
Once you have found a program you wish to apply to, click the plus sign to the far left of the program name. This will add it to your application! See below!
The example below shows only "MA" as the degree type instead of "BA" because I am on my personal account, intending to apply to a Masters program!
Before moving on, review your program selections. This page will show you all the programs you're applying to, your application status, and total fees due. It will look like the image below.
You will then click on the "My Application" tab to complete the rest of your application. You must complete all sections for a quafrant to show as complete. All quadrants must be complete to submit your application. It will be broken down into 4 sections, Personal Information, Academic History, Supporting Information, and Program Materials. Within those sections are sub-sections for you to fill out your information.
PERSONAL INFORMATION: Includes sections of Release Statenment, Biographic Information (name, birthday, etc.), Contact information, Citizen/Residency Information, Race & Ethnicity (this section is used for statistical purposes only and in no way affects your application or financial aid eligibility), Other Information (Social Security number, language you speak, etc.), Financial and Parental Information (you may need your parents assistance here for tax information).
ACADEMIC HISTORY: Essentially, the courses and grades from all schools you've attended while in high school - is just one of the factors we look at to ensure you're prepped for college-level work.
Search for Liberty High School and if you started Liberty as a Freshman your dates would be July 2018 to June 2022.
You will then select Term Type as Semester and "save this school", and then move onto Graduation Status.
The next tab will be High School Coursework, report all courses that will be used to satisfy the A-G subject requirements. If you completed college courses while in high school, report those courses in the Transcript Entry section.
Make sure you to refer to your transcripts (or academic records) as you fill out any information - don't enter information from your memory. It's important to report all of your schools, courses, and grades exactly as they would appear on official transcripts or academic records.
If you need your unofficial transcripts to fill this section out please see the Career Center, Ms. Gonzalez will gladly help you with that!
Under Academic History you will also be able to add Standardized Tests such as ACT, SAT, CLEP (College Level Examination Program), and IB (International Baccalaureate).
**CSU will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admission decisions or awarding scholarships. If you choose to submit test scores as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll**
SUPPORTING INFORMATION: You'll enter information regarding your participation in educational programs, work experience and extracurricular activities. Select the average number of hours worked and extracurricular activities during the last 36 months.
PROGRAM MATERIALS: You'll be reviewing the programs you applied to. Be sure to download a PDF version of your application and review all your information you put in to make sure that it is correct prior to submitting your application.
