Mr. Sierra's Video Portfolio

From 1997 to 1999, I worked with an outdoor extreme sports video team known as the "Light-Rangers", under the company Range of Light Productions. This was a feature we shot for the Fox Sports "Boardwild" series in Ocotillo Wells - SoCal.
This was a student project I created while attending Vista College (now called Berkeley City College) back in 2001. Apple had just released this radically transformed model of the iMac, and I couldn't help but imagine if it was really... portable.
The Patriots Jet Team Foundation (PJTF) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to get America’s youth excited about aviation, space, and STEM subjects [Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics} through exciting, hands-on programs and activities at local area schools and at our Learning Center (Byron Airport). I made this video/slideshow during their fundraising "Gala" in 2014.
Students in our ROP Digital Arts/Web Design class made this video to enter a contest put on by the host company, Schoolwires.
We made this video in 2013 for a contest sponsored by Samsung called "Solve for Tomorrow". The requirement was to show a project that would benefit the community while educating about an environmental issue. We were competing with massive school districts in this nation-wide competition, but we came in 4th place, winning $40,000 (in Samsung technology) for Freedom High School!
This annual plant sale draws hundreds of local residents every year. Around 2012, Mr. Sierra started bringing Environmental Science students to volunteer and help the sale run smoothly. It has become a tradition ever since!
I accompanied this celtic band on a cruise from Seattle to Alaska, filming workshops and performances along the way. Golden Bough was founded in 1980 and has recorded over 30 albums (starting back in the day of LP records)!
Y.E.S. stands for Youth for the Environment and Sustainability. I brought students to this conference for several years where they attended workshops and keynote presentations about ways we can improve our schools, communities and make the world a cleaner, healthier, happier place.
